Hello all,

New to the community and forum. I am in the process of buying my first atv since I was 12, I am 25 now, and wanted to ask a couple questions.

Looking to buy a used 2001 off craigslist that is local and the blaster is a 200 that has a .40 over bore. Would this be a good starter bike to use for a year or two for a 25 year old that weights about 235? Or should I begin looking at something a little more powerful? Anything I should look for before buying?

I'm 45 and weight 222 my blasty is fun as hell! For a starter quad it's the perfect ride no matter what you weigh. and if ya mod it like most of us do it will far exceed your power expectations, There is guys on here who drag race and have there monsters doing 5 sec in 300FT! Not too much out there than can compete with that! Ya get it keep up maintenance on ut then if ya don't like it sell it for something else, i see a lot of 4-pokers asking to trade for a 2-stroke....

Welcome to the dirt pile!

The blaster is the ultimate starter quad.....so what are you waiting for? Go get that thang!

Thanks guy. The 2001 fell through as the guy was all about games.

Found a local guy with a 1999 that has a bore to 250 for $800 bucks which seems like a good deal.
99 blaster 2 stroke

very unlikely, it could be a 240 big bore, but chances are it is just bored slightly over and the guy doesn't know what he is talking about.
