Hey everyone, Im getting a 96-98ish Blaster tomorrow. Already has a big bore kit, stroker crank, exhaust, jetted, renthal bars, some type of front/rear bumpers also. Most of my questions will be answered from the write ups here so Ill hold off until I have time to read those. It has no brakes at all, front lever is broken off too so thats first on the list to fix. It also will not idle, Im going to look into the TORS system when I get it home.

Now the questions I do have. Ive got a 2001 Bear Tracker 250, the exhaust valve isnt opening fully so it doesnt run that great currently. Im going to fix it but Im wondering if there is any aftermarket out there for this engine? I found a cam for it but nothing else really.

honestly.. i wouldnt even put money into something like that, but hey.. if you really want to then go for it.

for the bear tracker? idk of anything "specific" but umm... go here. you'll have to register for an account if you don't already have one, but that is a pretty damn good bit of info for someone with alot of "will this fit my quad" questions.

Well I figure I could come out cheaper to fix this one over buying another that could have anything go wrong with it at any time.

I would check the idle screw first off, because somtimes they get really loose or the electronics in them tend to break apart, But asfar as joing the forum WELCOME!!!!!!

the blaster sounds like a great deal, but i was talking about the bear tracker :P
my friend has a few of those and IMO they're not very good quads.

the thing looks like it wants to be 4x4 so badly, but is stuck with a 2wd drivetrain... i can't imaging how it could handle decently..

make sure you dont have the carb fuel flow screw all the way out, or all the way in.. gotta find that just right setting :-D

first and foremost -- welcome to blasterforum man! stay active!

and secondly... the air/fuel screw should be turned all the way in (not too tight though) and then back it out 1 and a half - 2 turns and adjust from there...

and about the bear tracker... i'd almost just say sell it if you can? because their handling is far far far from desireable, and there are many better quads out there you can put the money into besides that

but all in all, the choice is yours, do what you wish
