new clutch.....but wont engage....help please....

just installed my barnett clutches soaked in oil for 20mins, started first tab at 12oclock went clockwise with rest of the metals at every 3oclock.... torqued spring bolts at 51 inch pounds... just fired it up and it seems like i dont have clutches wont do anything , its stayin in neutral .... i can shift it in gears but nothing.... lever feels really lose to... help please

did u adjust the clutch arm to the line on the bottom end?

the clutch arm is where the clutch attaches to the motor

the clutch arm is what the cable connects to on the bottom end.if u look from the left side of the engine u will see a line on the top of the bottom end.ur clutch arm has to be adjusted to line up with that.u adjust ur clutch by the rod rod thats goes thru ur pressure plate on the clutch.also did u line up the dots on the clutch basket and the pressure plate?

got that how do i adjust it???? and does the pessure plate go on a certain way .....cause i just lined it up and put it on

the dot is on the inner hub, not on the outer basket, just for clarification

yea not lining up the dots will make it have no clutch to.

ok got the pressure plate off and can see the dot on it but i cant find one on the basket???

just moved the pressure plate and adjusted it ...works awesome... ima do some riding... when i get back ill give u guys some rep points

i had the same problem the first time i replced my clutch

i kinda did when i first put mine together but could tell looking at it something wasn't right, and i fixed it before getting the timing cover on
