New blaster few problems he

So i got what i assume is a 02 blaster kickstart casing was already removed i put it bk on and few kiks later it starts but it will only go into 1st nuetral and 2nd. No 3 4 5 6th. Any ideas where to go from here al looks fine when i look inside side casing star part just wont make that rotation to select 3rd any help is greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum first off

That's probably an internal problem.

Shift forks or something. Quite the job if you don't know much about working on stuff.

But can easily be learned if you heed our advice.

if your trying to shift it sitting still dont you need to ride it if possible to see if it shift's
if not watch this...

I dont know names of stuff but im ok with bikes had quite a few. Not too keen on gear parts but if its something little id be keen to fix it learning as i go thanx for reply tho

sounds like they took it apart and then put it back together wrong?
did they tell why they had the cover off?
how much oil is in it?

No oil was in it watched video and i think second selector fork must be goosed or incorrectly installed will i need to replace al bearings and seals if i split engine to reinstall it?

Its not a bad idea while your in there, if you don't really know how old they are or what they been through

Check that the shift star is tight to shaft, keyway/key is good. Look at pins that shift pawl hooks on, that pins aren't booggered. Is pawl trying to engage pins?
Leak test before and after. X-2 on crank seals, wouldn't replace others unless leaking. Get Clymers repair manual.
