Not only to the forum but Blasters too. I just bought a '93 Blaster Thursday. $500 and it runs but problems here and there.

This is actually the first atv I've ever owned. Ridden several, had a CR125 in the late 90's but not worth any details.

I bought this because I was invited to "ride the trails: with a co-worker and his friends.

The first thing I noticed was on the test ride. Turn the gas on, fuel is running out of the drain. Stops when running, and sometimes it doesn't do it at all.

Doesn't like to idle unless the choke is half

Easy to start and rolls in gear which probably means it's time for a top end. This bike is covered in stickers so I'm not sure to what extent, if any, it has been modified.

For now, it runs real strong and is good enough for the trail(s).

Any advice on starting points to get it like new would be appreciated. I am happy that this forum exsists and I look forward to being here.

Posting the only pics I have in just a minute.

Thanks,
Doug

The leaking gas is probably cause your float is stuck. I think your right it might be time for a rebuild. Good time to take the carb apart and find out why the float is sticking or if you have a clog somewhere.

If you quad reved up every time you turn the choke off. You probley just need to adjust your idle screw, I had the same problem when I first bought my quad. The fuel leek problem means you probley have your float stuck (easy fix).

welcome, and I would take off the carb and spray with some carb cleaner, make sure the float is not sticking o damaged, blow compressed air through the jets, and if its not idleing right then try adjusting the flathead screw either in or out 1/4 a turn see how it idles then.

Thanks guys. Never thought about the float. When it comes to running better with the choke, my mind automatically goes to "trash in the jets". To be honest, I haven't been on it or even fooled with it. Easter weekend, church across the street, 2 stroke noise, ya'll get the idea.

Nice buy. You need to tap tou'r float in the carb my buddy had the same problem it got stuck gas was draning out of tube's .tapped with wrench lightly fixed it . Otherwise dunno gl
