I've finally got my bike to the point where Its a sturdy little bike. I got a clutch, brakes, no loose bolts, and it starts after 4 or 5 kicks...

But it doesn't run like I think it should. It still bogs out before the power band, and after reading a ton of posts here... I'm not sure what I need to do.

Here's my setup:

FMF Gold Fatboy pipe
DG silencer
Keihin PJ 07babg Carb (34mm I think)
K&N Air filter (No Box)
TORS removed
The top end was rebuilt, I'm not sure if its got the 240 kit in it or if its just bored over with new rings.

When I got it, it was running a 152 main jet, I got a 155 main in it right now...

I want to say that the bigger jet helped a little, but it could just be in my head, I have a 235 jet coming in from ebay that im going to try.

But my main concern is NOT blowing it up... at the same time - having it run like a champ.

Is there something wrong with my setup? or am I on the right path? Ive read alot about not having a big enough jet, or having to small a jet and blowing it up...

Help and suggestions much appreciated, thanks.

sounds to me like your a bit rich on the main and maybe rich on the needle too....might be a good idea to pull the head off and see what is has for a piston and see if its a bbk or not

id try a 148-150 main and a 48-50 pilot

lol, that's good to know. I guess I'll try to find some smaller jets too, I haven't checked my pilot jet yet, I just assumed since It was bogging out that I wasn't getting enough gas.

Where would I see "BBK", on top the piston?

Could I just measure the diameter of the cylinder to check if its been bored? How do i do that?

I dont think the top of the piston would say BBK on it. It should have a mm size ontop. Like you said just measure the cylinder with a micrometer and you will know your bore size. I think a BBK kit piston starts at 72mm. Dont quote me on that I never had a BBK.
