Hey guys, New join here but been snooping for a while.
I ran into a problem with my rebuild and was wondering if I could gain a solution to my problem through a discussion.
I have a 89 blaster I acquire from my father in law and am rebuilding engine because main bearings went out. Tore whole engine apart, cleaned, new bearings and seals and put case back together. Using the service manual and you tube to assist in rebuild.
Ran into a problem with clutch.
I was watching the video by Chris oconer and he says that the clutch should spin feely after you torque the clutch boss nut down. My clutch basket spins freely until I apply torque. Once I torque it down it doesn't spin freely anymore.
Not sure what to do.
Should I crack the cases open again and reassemble the engine again or is there something I am overlooking?
Please help

You must not have watched Ken Oconners' video otherwise you would've known it worked before you put the cover on. You are going to need to take cover back off and take clutch apart again. Watch the right video and read manual.

Ok, so I took it back apart, watched the Ken O'Connor's video again and read the manual again. Still same outcome. Once I torque the clutch boss nut down the clutch boss does not spin freely any longer. It feels like it is being pressed up against the clutch case. I'm am at a dead end and don't know what else to do other than split the case again and re do the build. Funny thing is... I can shift through all the gears with the engine off with no problem and the engine runs great. It is just the clutch that is giving me problems.
