Need Rebuild?

I was riding my blaster today when I heard some nasty noise from the engine, so i shut it off for a few minutes and then spent 20 minutes kickin it to start it. rode for about another 1 mile when my engine seized up. Tires locked up and the kick start was stuck solid. while i waited for a truck to come get me i broke it free. So know it will kick but i can tell it lost allot of compression, havent dared to start it. So do i need to rebuild the top end or is the engine fried?

do you mix your own gas or do u still use the oil injection?

check ur cyclinder sound's like u may have scored it when u broke it free

i mix my own gas but i do think someone could have put some regular in it, I also ran the sh*t out of it, i was keeping up pretty good with my buddys yz450f bike. I had to be in 6th gear full throttle allot of the time, probibly an hour of that in 2 hours of riding hard. could riding it that hard do that?

that could have weakened it a ton, because your supposed to pulse it a little bit when riding at full throttle for long periods of time to vary your rpm slightly, but yeah, running hard can deffinately do that

uhhm... you might have shattered your piston, or done some damage to your cyl. from when you broke it free...

the rest of your motor should be fine as long as a bunch of pieces didn't fall down into your bottom end.. if i were you, when you rip it apart, and if the piston is pretty bad, or the cyl. is toasted, you should probably take apart the bottom end and make sure you don't have any metal down inside of there
