Just got my 15 yr old daughter an 05 blaster... Runs good for 3 minutes then only idles after that. Any ideas?

tried a new B8ES plug ?

check air intake and filter to carb for blockages, and also the exhaust (requires removal and blow air thru it)
mice nests have been known to cause your symptoms

try checking the fuel cap vent by running it with the cap loose to let air in, if the built in one way valve in the cap malfunctions it'll vapor lock.

petcock or screens in tank under petcock not flowing correctly, pull fuel line, turn on petcock and check flow to carb

tors malfunction: http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/03-06-tors-removal-diy.41973/

run thru those and report back

Thanks for the help. I jumped the wires for the tors like the site u sent me said to do after everything else checked out. Idk what the tors is but that fixed it. Had to adjust the large flat head screw under the seat and on the top of carb half a turn to the right to get it to idle but so far so good. It's been running good for about 30 minutes now.

Finalise the Idle speed adjustment, as follows.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle. With TORS it is the big screw under seat on top of unit. With no TORS is is the brass screw midway down carb body.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a faster idle, 2000rpm+

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs or until the motor responds.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .
