You have to be careful when re-ringing a piston. What kind of shape is the piston and bore in? If that piston drops the skirt in the bottom end you will doing a complete rebuild.
did you measure it?
or did you take someones word?
if rings are that bad how is the wrist pin and wrist pin bearing?
what are numbers on top of wiseco piston? it should say the size
keeping an eye on your compression as it drops and the rings wear should be part of everyones routine maintainence.
but, you have to actually do routine compression checks and catch it before it gets too low and starts banging a piston around in there, creating excessive piston/bore wear.
in your case, a piston to cylinder clearence check will tell you if just rings may help you.
if that is within specs, chances are a light hone to restore the cross hatching and new rings will restore some of your compression and help prolong the life of your current piston/bore.
