my 250r rebuild now in progress!

Ok for one I've been here longer than u so u can blow me and I'm 26 years old so I'm Bo kid and if u read my post I told u it sounds like a bad machine. if u want to be a child and cry that's fine. I never said Denny wasn't a good builder and yes I have seen all taters vids and they are awesome. so next time u want to blow up at me stating some facts read and understand my post. Ur bike sounds like a beast and I am sure it hauls ass, I have absolutely nothing wrong with Denny and everyOne has their reasons for picking their builder. just don't put cotton in the cylinder....

another flotek guy.....but there is no need to put other members in ur sig because they like a certain builder and their products, like me i like ken oconnor and i wont send my work to anyone else just for the customer service, im not going to clog ur thread, or start a war, sounds good, post vids and pics. pm me ur prices for comparison if u want to because i had mine ported and a lightened flywheel also.

Sounds like there is a lot of potential inside this 2 stroker. I've recently got 2 from my uncle and have been looking at directions to go with them. Ya got a beast there man, any vids?

So what is your current set up? I forgot after I had to read through that porting biotch slap fight. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend the '88-'89 swingarm on an 86 frame. The motor mounts are different. On an 86 the mounts go through the swing arm, you'd have to fabricate some mounts if you switched to the 89 style. Glad to hear you beating down some four strokes on the old legend. I biotch slapped my friend's z400 too :)
 
my set ups for trails.. i live in southwestern pa ( 5 miles from the wv border )

But the trails here are pretty tight.. so thats what i aimed for..

my set up now..

Flotek mx head porting
Flotek lightened flywheel mod
boyensen carbon fiber reeds
paul turner pipe ( just restored it and added new fiberblass packing )
new jets for stock carb ( yea i know i should have went with the stryker but im selling it to my bro) so he can pay for that lol..
weisco piston and new rings ( just seated them today ) showing above 181psi
hotrods crank ( stock )

plastic looks like death.. more stitches in it then a hospital.. we race cut the fronts yesterday their so bad..

sticks right with my 2010 yfz450x and pounds me in the woods.. the yfz is so heavy and the 250r has so much USABLE power + its more nimble/lighter.. makes me wish i would have just bought the wife a craptor 350 and got myself another 250r.. instead of paying for the new 450.

those whom are going to awks ride will see both..I love riding the R but overall.. my yfz will kill it when it comes to power.. toooo much torque and fuel injection should have never been put on a 450 lol... im always using more power then needed.. scares the sh*t out of me at times..

heres the Lt250 i just sold.. should have went to strokedtater but i blew it up and cracked the case in 3 places.. amazes me that a co-worker welded the case and has it milled.. its now rebuilt and may make awks ride.. just maybe :)

I don't think that's the case. Maybe you just like the low end grunt of a fourstroke.

A stock 250r came with 39.8 HP, stamped on the certificate of origin from the factory in Japan.

A stock YFZ450 has about 41 HP

the exhaust on the R cracked yesterday.. broke in 2.
about a 2 inch pc right where the two parts of the exhaust come together...

we had a better races yesterday on blacktop.. the yfz beats it..
i dont know what happend in the 1st race the day i got it home.. The 250r gets close in 4th.. in a 3 block race ( roughly ) 5-6 quad lengths easy

i think once it gets that 38mm airstryker and a few other goodies.. it will be closer.

this r is well into the mid 40's as far as hp goes as she sits now.. i think it needs a longer gear.. it maxes out quick now after the work done..
