My 1989 rebuild

So i bought a 89 blaster for $500.Has a 72.17mm piston that melted a little ,needs to be bored and honed with new piston and rings.Has vforce reeds,paul turner pipe with fmf silencer,keihen pwk carb dont know what size,crome a arms +2 or 3?? crome swingarm,extended crome axle,crome steering stem,v crome bars,all the little things are crome,works dual rate shocks,started the tear down today and got a little done.Took the topend off and the whole motor out of the quad.Here are some pics.Hope you guys enjoy em.Pics are right after i brought it home.Sand tires came with it too.

As for the piston, sounds like you have a big bore because no stock cylinder will allow a 72 mm piston. Look for Vito's 73mm pistons, thats what you need

Yeah its a 240 but there pistons go from the size of 72 to 72.25,72.50,73 where did this 72.17 come from?

Not really sure. Did the owner say it was 72.17 or did you measure it and got 72.17?

EDIT: just saw the numbers on the piston...

Cleaned the shock body and polished it ,painted the lowers spring black and the top lime green,frame is gonna be blue metalic

YOU GOT AN AWESOME DEAL it looks to have a alluminum carrier a awesome rear skid plate extended a-arms and alot more holy great job on the shocks u need to get rid of that rear skid plate and sell it to slick or awk and i am sure they have one they ride in the biggest rocks of all and need a big one like that

Thanks speede ,yeah it has quiet some mods ,ill see if I don't need the skidplate ill sell it but I probably will polish it to mirror finish and put it back on

Nice find! I got me a nice skidder, however. The intake looks to have work done! Either way nice. I'm not sure what the .17 means, but if you have the bore measured you'll be good like stated don't go no bigger than necessary if you can do 72.25 i would!

Here it is all done.Did 4 heat cycles and couple 10min half throttle rides with occasional full throttle (for a second) runs.Runs awsome and i think it turned out great.
