motor swap

I have an 01 blaster with a blown motor....I would like to replace or upgrade. What year motor will fit and/or what is an easy swap?

any year blaster motor will work. the 03-06 ones require grounding an extra wire for the stator, but that's about it.

why is the motor "junk"

To not have to mess with the stator or cdi issue, just stick with a 02 or earlier motor.

For swap ideas, check out the swap section here on the forum. There is a lot you can do with a blaster motor too, if you want to rebuild it.

Any Blaster motor all the way back to 88' will bolt right in.
Any other motor will need new motor mounts/frame mods.
