hey guys. i have almost a complete bottom end but missing a few parts. i was wondering if you guys thought it would be a good idea to rebuild it. the bad thing is that the left side of the case is broken from the kick start and i was wondering if thats fix able or a ruined case. i have pics to show the damage..

That's a big challenge.... Because of the trouble involved with getting the kick starter guide area inside just right, normally a break there is fatal.

Do you have the part that's missing?

oh that sucks. no i dont have the missing part. i got the cases when i baught my blaster

they are repairable.... but I'm not sure they're actually worth repairing. Does that make sense?

I see about an hour solid of filling material there. We're talking 3 36" filler rods, 100 psi of argon, a bunch of acetone, and then a bunch of time spent cutting it back down to get it flat again.

It's doable, but it depends on what it's worth to you.

yea i understand what ou mean. i could probably easily search craigslist or ebay for another bottom end or just try and find the left have of the case and then start a rebuild from their. its just spare parts its not the motor thats in my blaster now.

If you do decide to rebuild you need a right case half. The broken area is the kick starter area which seals to the clutch cover.

If you do want me to fix it, I can tell you, it's gonna be about $100 (for a baseline for how much should be looking for a replacement case half)

i think im gunna just replace it. awk just pm me and showed me a case on ebay for 70 bucks plus shipping but idk if ima go with that ill try and maybe find another better deal. im in no hurry to rebuild it im just bored and want another project to start

I think I have a spare right side case (have to check the stash) I'll sell you for $50.

I don't really think it's economically practical to replace that much material when the parts isn't available for replacement.... unfortunate but not ALL cases are worth repairing....

i wasn't trying to get in between in a "case repair" sale
but when i saw civic mention a "tough repair" and "just buy a new one",
i already had ebay open while cruisin parts, so i looked one up, and there was only one that was under $100
rather than post it here for all the vultures to swarm on, i pm'd it to the op

It's cool man, you didn't bust up "a sale" anyway, I'd say that case is probably toast unless the OP was REALLY attached to it (which he's obviously not! :p)

The best deal he can find for a right side case half is the best deal for us all, whether I make the loot on it or not I:I
