I have a 91 blaster thats all stock, what i want is more torque. i already had the idea of changing the gearing to 12/40 what other small things can i do for more torque?

a pipe and a re chambered head would work wonders.also removing the air box cover and getting a aftermarket filter would be a good thing to

Head mod, porting, pipe. Mine has modded head, aggressive trail porting, lightend flywheel, Toomey pipe an silencer, vforce 4 reeds, pwk 28 carb bored to a 30, an ignition timing advanced 4*, I run 14/40 gearing, an im from Western pa its all hill climbs an super tight nasty trails an mine will chug through it like a 4 stroke, an when you nail it, it will pull the wheels on command anytime

when you say it moves it lower in the rpm range do you mean the powerband is lower in the rpm?

You have one of the best builder's right in your state, check out Ken oconner racing he is in CT. I use Denny at Flotek for my stuff, he is pretty local too me, an is also one of the best in the buisness, he goes above an beyond for me

m y problem is that im 15 and my mom wont let me pick tobacco for a job or work on a farm so i get paid to umpire games which is next to nothing so i have my best friend whos got a dad who is an engine whiz from small engines like mine to cat c15's in the semis so he did it for free and i helped and paid for the parts and gave him a helmet

Man that sucks. Blasters are one of the cheapest quads to modify, but it still costs some ching, with out being able to spend the money on internal engine mods you pretty much stuck with changing pipe an air filter an jetting accordingly, till you can save up same cash to do serious mods.

exactly in a week or so i may just go right to my neighbor who owns a farm and get a job

There you go, as long as it isnt a tobacco farm, you dont wanna piss mom off lol, save up some cash an get ahold of Ken oconner or Flotek an either one will set you up with what you need, custom tailored to your riding style an terrain

a correctly jetted and tuned carb is free preety much. You can advance the timing for free, yet you need a flywheel puller and cutting tool dremel,or drill would work but not the best.Or you could just practice on riding it HARDER
a low end exhaust would be good for low to mid range power, like fmf,dmc ect,not toomey exhaust it is a mid to high pipe.

I give you credit bud. If you want something, you'll figure a way to get it done. Keep Mom happy, keep working, and you'll get what you want soon enough.

The guys gave you some good options for some more power for your blaster. Keep working and saving up, and it will be done before you know it.

Welcome! Read up on leaktesting and get a tester. It is the best money you can spend on your 2 stroke! It won't help with power, but it can greatly extend the life of your engine from a few weeks (if leaking) to years. Also break-in properly after rebuild! ^^^ These guys got your power suggestions covered. Make sure to rejet for any changes. And yes, the exhaust pipe you use determines when the powerband will hit. Good luck
