mixing fuel

The best thing about leaving the pump on is when you are coasting down hill.

When you throttle off with pre mix there is no lubrication supplied to the engine.

The good old pump will supply an adequate amount of oil no matter what the throttle position.
It's that the little micro switch in the throttle doing that

No, that's part of the TORS. The pump injects the same amount of oil for each revolution of the engine, throttle open or closed.

Some machines have a cable from the throttle so that it's a variable system. Little at low throttle, lots at WFO

Got all my bolt on mods ordered today dmc exhaust and a power pack kit for carb and airbreather the only thing left now is too get this thing ported in august by kor will take some pics when I start the mods

Be very wary of jet kits, the seldom have genuine jets and the sizes can differ from standard.

If you do jet with them, please confirm with a plug chop.

Read the instructions that come with the DMC and use the stock needle in the carb, not the kit needle.

Damn I knew I should have asked

All is not lost, non standard jets are usable providing you get respectable plug chop readings.

The problem lies in recommending jetting sizes to others, I may say try a #290, the kit jet marked #290 may be only a #270 and cause problems if it is not confirmed correct AFR by a plug chop.

ok I will do the plug chop and post pics this is the first time I've tried to do mods to anything I'm at about 1500 ft above sea level the power pack I ordered was recommended to go with the dmc exhaust I ordered

When I received my DMC from the US, it came with a kit, I found the needle that was supplied was useless.

You may find that the needle will need to be the stock one on the second to richest clip.

It all seems a little confusing but I'm sure when I get into it it will start making more sense thanks for the tips been allot of help crazy the things we do just to go a little faster lol if I'm ever down under I will have to buy you a fosters

Glad to have you down under, but no Fosters please, us Aussies do not drink the stuff, thats why we ship it out of the country.

While popular in many countries, particularly where it is brewed locally, Foster's Lager does not enjoy widespread success in Australia.

Right on brother well better get back to work so I can pay for all these mods and kor is going to do my porting I have been in contact with him all ready thanks again

Ok got my dynojet powerpack today it came with jets dxp/ 200 /210 /220 /340/350/360 and needle valve dno309 this setting is suppose to be in the 3rd groove
It is telling me if I live below 5000 ft above sea level to use dxp360 with aftermarket exhaust and after market breather anybody ever used dynojet

I've always stuck to genuine jets. Mikuni jets for Mikunis, Keihin jets for Keihins. I'd recommend you go that route. A few others will as well. It isn't that the jets won't work, it's just that the jets are more accurately manufactured and we can give a recommendation because we know that a genuine Mikuni 250 main (for example) will always flow the same as another Mikuni 250 main. If you go with dynojet, just know that you're approaching the inadvisable side of things because from what I know, most guys here use genuine stuff and we simply just don't have dynojet experience. A dynojet 250 likely won't flow the same as a Mikuni 250.

one other positive to leaving it on, if your out trail riding, you wont have to carry a bottle of oil with you when you need to refill the gas tank.

You will have noticed that the jets in the kit fall into the unusable category , either too small for a stock engine, or too large unless you have very wild mods and running exotic fuel!

That is why folks seldom buy kits.

Use the stock jet at the second lowest groove for a DMC.
