im planning on going to the dunes this fall and i have 20"x11" maxxis razrs with about half tread left. how well will these work in the sand? should i just get a set of paddles?

they suck, was in the sand at the river yesterday and the gf's brother was on the 200x with fairly new(75-80%) and was having troubles. I would say if mostly what you want to play in the sand you are best off getting a set of paddles.

i havent ridden this blaster too much and the tires were on it when i bought it. i will definitely look at some paddles. what kind of tires do you recommend for trail or kind of like an all terrian tire?

I like the way my ITP XCR Holeshots hook on my 400ex, and my holeshots mxr6's on my blaster dont do well on trails cause they are 18in. my advice is to buy some 20in holeshots and gear down if necessary.

razrs are only good on 250 4 pokes so they can actualy slide, get some real tires, i like kenda KLAW's plus u can turn them around and it makes a sorta scoop shape for more traction, but i'd pick up some cheap paddles, or some 22" balloons with lotsa tread, put the pressure at 2.5 and let'r rip, my blaster went thru all the sand climbs at the badlands thta the 450's with paddles were scared to do, on that setup

i was lookin and i found a cheap set of paddles for $20 each. i think thats the route ill take. im hoping to head to the badlands this month and hopefully the razrs will make it that trip. thanks for the replys.

id get the paddles unless you like to lift and push.. i see guys bury themselves all the time with razrs, there too heavy to run soft enough for sand. cheng shin tires are cheap and really are ALL terrain tires

I have Razrs and they dont seem to work anywhere but on a track. If you are considering something that will work all around I would see what others say about Bandits. I know a couple of guys are racing with them? Any comments. We ride in all kinds of terrain in Florida lotsa sand and loose mud.
