Looking @ buying this blaster from my girlfriends brother. Its in real nice shape, a few upgraded parts including exhaust and nerfs...but the motor is blown. He said the cylinder needs to be bored, and I think he took it to a shop which told him that. I think its been rebuilt a few times, so maybe this time he really mucked it up (obviously doesnt know how to care for a 2stroke). Anyway, if I buy it..whats the best way to go here? I want the most power possible, at a good price. Is there a 230 or 240 kit I can just bolt on in my garage instead of going to a shop and having the stock head bored? I know you can sometimes but a new head with piston/rings and just replace the old head. What would you guys suggest here? Any advice and input would rock! I really want to join the blaster world.

hey by your name you might have a kdx ??? I'll give you 2 blasters one with fresh rebuild, I'm not even finished breaking it in, and one with no engine if you give me your KDX.. I will be traveling to Pa for spring break from GA are you anywhere along the way?

just get a pipe v3 reeds and a nasty port you'll be quick and its really easy to do a topend on this motor you will be suprised.

Well he said it will need to be bored out, since the piston is seized. So i cant do the top end myself, unless there is a kit that comes with a new head.

Is there a top notch, or recommended top end rebuild kit? Or does anyone on the market work? Ive seen a lot of blaster rebuild kits.

i got a vito's gasket kit (supposed to raise compression blah blah blah) and a wiseco piston. cometic is a very good gasket brand, and most of all, get a wiseco piston....did i happen to mention you should probably go ahead and get a wiseco piston? lol

Well no more worries...im not buying the quad. Heres what he just said
3" extended swing arm . Hydro brake kit on rear . Toomey b1 full exhaust . Jetted carb w/ spacer and boysen reed's . Oil block off kit . Maier plastic's with grafic's & seat cover . Jaw's front bumper . Hand guard's . Removed factory headlamp & installed 2 small profector's like a banshee . 18" fasttreaker's on blue label rim's . Factory yfz front rim's & tires . Anything less then $1,500 and it's worth more to me to keep it .
I dont have $1500 + money to rebuild the motor.

Ive seen it...its not as nice as you would think. Needs tires, exhaust is smashed up, and its a 92. Im going to keep looking.
