I got my bottom end back together, but I don't know if I need a ring compressor or not. I can't get the piston back in the jug because I can't compress the rings. Please help. Thanks guys! (First time rebuild by the way.)

it will make life some what easy if u have one but if not like me when ever i do it i have some one else hold the jug and i press the rings and line it up well they barely lightly slide it into place. i have done sets by my self there a pain and u could have the wrong size pistion rings. that has happend to me once sold me the wrong one.
I've always did what speedracinshift said and it's always worked great
And to see if you have the right rings take the top ring off the piston and put it in the cylinder and measure the end gap, it should measure 0.008-0.014"
yea its a pain tryin to put the piston in the cylinder by urself.i had to do it twice when i just put mine back together cuz i forgot to put my spacer plate in so i had to take it all back apart
The ring gap faces the intake port, twist one ring one way and the other ring the opposite way both facing the intake port.... they will "lock" in place, then the jug will slide on like melted butter if you have the rings lined up right, or else it will never go on!!
DO NOT FORCE IT ON!! - No special tool needed either!
