leakdown tester ?

hello all again

im getting ready to build my leakdown tester and was wondering if it would be ok to use my little electric craftsman air compressor. i know to only put 7# in but didnt know if the compressor would give to much to quick but its not like it has a tank for the instant burst. if not i will just get the hand pump but figured if you guys think its ok i would rather use what i got.

also are the wiseco base gasket known to leak

Just don't put more than 7-10lbs of air or you can end up blowing out the crank seals.
Also I only use cometic or oem base and head gaskets.

i would not use electric pump if i was you, but if you have a brake bleede the pump from that will work well. dont use a compressor, just use a hand pump.

I got one of those bicycle foot pumps for mine. that way i can use it for leak down test and put it in the truck for when i go riding somewhere ill have it for the four wheeler just in case.

I used my air compressor to do mine, however I have a pressure regulator on it which I set to 7-8 psi. Worked great

I too use a compressor, just have to be careful.

ok i think im going with the compressor. got the tester all made up now just letting that dry.

bike pumps are 5 buxs at walmart. well worth the money and i am sure there are a few balls around the house that need air. one slip with the electric compressor your gonna need seals and or gaskets.
