hello,great site
I have
never owned a Blaster before. I wanted one when i was a kid. I am now considering one now because you can get them cheap were i live. I still would like to go riding. I have been out of the sport for a couple of years.( Wife in school) I planed on moddding if for sure. How is it for say a 5 10" person. the smallest quad i have had was a 300ex and largest a banshee. I ride trails. Just some opinions from some of the larger riders. I no i can get longer swing arm and widen it. Any advice would be great. Thanks

This same topic is being discussed in Off Topic section "how long will it last"... Some of the larger riders race cut fenders to get the bigger quad feel.. Alot of larger folks ride Blasters with alot of comfort with just a few simple mods to make it feel comfortable to you.

i just gave the same advice in another thread. there are tons on mods for blasters that will make it bigger, wider and more comfortable for a larger rider. you would widen, and lengthen your blaster for about $400.00 it will be a major improvement. then with some shock upgrades you will a nice blaster that is mx, or trail ready. the motor mods are and endless as well. good luck. hope you have a fun project.

trimming the fenders dosent change the size of the quad but it makes a world of difference in the feel. Bigger handle bars help and if you dont already know the on older style blasters with the drum brakes you can flip the front wheels around backwards and gain a couple inches of width

you an flip the front wheels on the newer blasters as well as long as you get yourself some flush mount valve stems.

im a larger rider and i love my blaster. even on stock suspension its still a very capable ATV. add a pipe, silencer, air filter, and rejet to wake it up. while wider and longer is better, there is no real need to do so just because your bigger. toss on some banshee front shocks and a 400Ex rear shock to soften up the ride a little and you are all set.

I bet I'm the biggest rider on these forums at 6"2 and 300lbs. I didn't need to cut the fenders, but I did remove the heel gaurds. I'm on the stock suspension now, but I hope to have a 400ex rear shock on the way. I put on bigger MSR handlebars. In my opinion, its the perfect size atv for what I do (small jumps, trail rides). I have ridden bigger quads before, but I feel that I have more control on a smaller atv.

Sure, I get outran 1/2 the time when I drag race 01BlasterDude on his blaster w/ the same mods....but that's the burden of being a bigger guy.

Blasters are great little atv's....go for it, man...

Ok thanks sounds good to me.
sorry for another post i was looking in the wrong sections. Its always great to have other opinions. I went from a 300ex to a 400ex before and i thought the 300 was easier to to manage but got use to the 400ex. I wasn't sure if i could go back. I will look at the other post and do some of those modds. Thanks for th replies.
