ok so i got this 93 kx 80 i been fixing up and it runs really really good, starts first kick smokes alot of that blue smoke and has perfect compression. but today i put a chain and sprockets on it and then i went to test ride it, i pulled in the clutch and put into first then it died like when your trying to put into gear without pulling in the clutch. so then i tried pulling in the clutch putting it in 1st and rolling it and it wont roll either??????

EDIT: ok so i started it up and warmed it up then i pulled in the clutch and ran with it then put it into gear and it went and rode really good. so what the hell is the problem? why wont it go into gear when at a dead stop?
and it will go through all the gears when im riding really great and it runs great and holy crap this thing is fast

ok another update, i was reading that the clutch plates may be stuck togethor? how do i go about getting them unstuck without taking the cover off? and i just chaged the oil by the way

My kx did not like cold clutching either. When the oil heats up it seems to work a lot better. You can not inspect the clutch without taking off the cover. The bike should be at operating temp before riding anyway. Try to give it a proper warm up and see what happens.
