kickstarter fuged up

i had the right side case off to switch my clutch and when i put it back on for some reason the kickstarter wont return isnt their a spring inside to keep the kickstarter recoiling back? is it possibly the spring just isnt in the whole or i broke it?

There should be a spring you have to coil up and put into a hole. That will hold it and let it recoil which lets it start. If you put a clutch in you can do this.

yea i just didnt pay attention untill my ankle was swolen when i got back cause the kickstarter kept hiting it and since its raining im gonna go do this now

Like said above,There is a hole that you put the spring in and then just preload the spring when putting it in.
