Traded my 97 kx250 for a 02 blaster that needed a top end i ported honed the cylinder put a 68mm weisco piston in it today i put it all back together as i kick start it cranks but the lever stays down i pull it back up n try again no pressure at all help me

hey roody
it sounds like the return spring has jumped out of it's locating hole ?
or the spring may have also broke, and a new/used one needed ?

you'll need to remove the, kicker itself, peg and clutch cover to access the kicker mechanism/spring, try not to tear the clutch cover gasket when removing/installing it
here's acouple threads that will help you understand and fix your problem.....

kiskstarter install:
http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/how-to-install-the-kickstarter-gear.2227/

the installation can be seen in one of kens engine assembly vids on this page:
(vid # 3 or 4 ?)
http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/kor-engine-assembly-vids-no-crank-puller-needed.51169/

let us know how you make out, or reply back once you get the clutch cover off for more help.

Ok thanks but here is more details when i got the bike i relized the kick start was not doin its job i Opened the clutch cover and the c clip was Bent i did my best to reform it also when i was closing the side i relized that the gear that turns over the engine was not staying in place can this be the reason n shld i just get a new assembly on ebay

if that idler gear is floping around, it may be missing one of the 2 c-clips that hold it in place ?
you can see those and that assembly in those ken oconnor vids.

unfortunately, none of the parts on the kicker mechanism are replaceable, so an ebay replacement is the best option.

Thanks that is my problem the gear was daggling i didnt know about the 2nd clip thank you again
