kick start spring

my kick start is not springing back up. i had the problem before and the spring just came out of the one hole. should i fix it right away or will i be okay riding for half a day? and then fixing it. hope this isnt stupid question im just to lazy to fix it right away.

should be ok if ya just pull it back up...but get her fixed and dont look back

The kicker starter set up can be tricky for the beginners. I always suggest buying a service book and reading it. There are many great tips that can help members out.. The kick starter gear can be rotated causing issues during the reassemble or correct alignment

I used a pair of hemostats to hold it in place and help line it up when I was putting the case back on.

Is this a fairly simple fix or will a bunch of crap come flying out when I pull that cover off? I have the same problem and suspected a broken spring under the cover.

no nothing should fly out at you lol just remove the cover slow and dont forget theres oil in there

yeah dude easy fix. as long as u know how to use an 8mm. dang springs

I'm having the same problem but the spring isn't coming off i believe it's the retainer clip any ideas on why it woulda bent?
