I bought a k&n off some guy on craigslist new. Only thing is its the type where u eliminate your stock air box...
It goes directly on to the carb.. has a shockwears on it..
Is any1 else using this type? My blasty is bone stock even the crappy muff is still on...

????

here is how my pod is set up......its a good idea to run a 5" piece of pipe after the barb then the filter.....and you may need to cut your stock air box out...and deff need to rejet

just put a new plug in and ride it for a while then check the plug it should look cardboard color on the insulator

oh ok.. i was talkin about the part were ppl are cutting the threads... haha
i think ud have to be precise with that..
if i was to throw on some boysen power reeds (stock cage..)
would i have to jet it even more from there?
Whats the point of the piece of pipe extending the filter away from the carb tho? yb2000

you should not need to jet any higher for the reeds

the purpose of the tube is for air velocity or whatever makes the air go in to the carb from one straight point instead of all directions...idk if i am making any sense but i try

i put the k&n on directly to the carb. and the bike runs alot better no more bog. I used to nail it and id get a lil bog... now it just dips out...
still rejet? it might be running lean???

you can go to menards or home depo and get everything in the plumbing second, rubber boot, and pvc pipe, or get a section of exhaust pipe

this is true just bring along your carb and filter so you know your getting the right size parts
