Remember to fit the stock stoppers, and Loctite the little screws that hold them on!

You have reminded me that my reed inspection is overdue, thanks.

No problem what do I mean install the stock stoppers I have never taken a reed assembly apart but I got the instructions from boysen btw it says these new reads could and do tend to ritchen the fuel mix an that I should be able to correct but turnin my air screw out so if it starts should I plug chop?

Yup ditch them little bits of brass they supply and refit the stock stoppers.

Not usually and issue with jetting with reeds, but if you are concerned do a plug chop.

Do not just fiddle with the air screw do a full idle adjust.

Idle adjusting.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle. With TORS big screw under seat on top of unit. No TORS brass screw midway down carb body.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a faster idle, 2000rpm+

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs to allow the motor to respond.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .

Well I'll plug chop first honestly since the winter conditions have set in here now a little richer wouldn't be to bad anyways to compinsate for the weather however I have ever done a plug chop or a leak test before (by myself anyways) an never plug chopped period so it would be a smart Idea to do both I've cleaned that card think I'll clean the air filter maybe although I doubt that It will be needed it was done by nick (braaaptor) on Awks wild ride. Only put 3 rides on since then an 2 were real small but one was a pretty rough ride.

Yes use the stock curled stops! I don't think you'll have to worry about jetting just from petals.

Alright so I was looking at the reeds tonight an was wondering, there s a back part te large square with 2 slots in them an then the 2 bolt holes. Then there is another the second part that is two flaps connected together at the bottom with a slot in them. I don't remember seeing this first part ( the larger square) on my original stock set it says there " dual stage" reeds is this what I'm looking at.

If so when installing put them both on the larger square agains reed blot then te second part ( the actual reeds looking part) on second then add the reed stop put lock tight on an screw snug?

This is my first venture with reeds wanna do it correct

You seem to understand it, make sure the first pair of petals are snug against the cage, if there is a little gap, flip them over, that should fix it.

Do not tighten the screw too much, 0.7 ft lbs is not very tight at all

Yeah I was reading that .7 ft lbs I'll turn it till the screw snugs then maybe a Hal a turn over that they seem thin enough to break easily if to much pressure is applied...

Then copper perma gasket on both sides put it back together an ill leakiest when I get the exhaust block off that slick hooked me up with :)

When you put the reed block onto the jug you will see what way it needs to line up with the carb. But nearly sure it only fits one way anyway.

Thanks slick I figured it out with a diagram reeds installed Locktite an rtv is drying!

Waiting for slicks exhaust port block off to leak test should know by this weekend if it was the problem!

Thank u I put lock tite on the screws I didnt want it oozing so I did out to much is that fine I jus put a thin line aroun the treads on the screw an dropped it in

A little is enough, I have never had one drop out yet without Loctite, but I always put a drop on to be sure to be sure.
