Just got back from the Sand Dunes few questions..

Well, when i have my choke on it bogs.

And if your motor is set up properly running good, you shouldnt need the choke. Like blaaster said, it could hide something if it runs better with the choke on...

just out of curiosity, why is it bad to run with the choke open? I thought it made the bike run rich not lean so why is it bad? (not saying it's normal to run the choke on during the entire duration you ride, just wondering why it's bad to do so)

Running with the fuel enrichment system on will cause the motor to starve for air.

Without the correct amount of air in the AFR the combustion process will not be complete and the motor will run cooler than optimum.

Other than unburnt gases which will deposit carbon in the exhaust port and expansion chamber, the motor may wear excessively due to lack of operating temperature.

A substantial amount of power can be lost when running way too rich.

Running too cool can cause piston seizure. ( That is food for thought, prove me wrong )

Thank you blaaster, I knew performance would be lost due to a rich mixture but I never thought of cool temperatures molesting your piston.

I know this has nothing to do with the topic, but I just had to type it.

It always amazes me when folks throw away the thermostat in a water cooled motor to improve cooling.

The thermostat is there to control the temperature so as the motor does not run too cool as to create wear to revolving and reciprocating components.

Removing the temperature control shortens the life of motors.

lol No more choke! Anti Choke Campaign!

For what it is worth this thread was a major learning curve for many a person including myself.

It gave a chance to look at a number of scenarios and try to find solutions for them.

Even though it was a simple matter of just forgetting to push the choke off, it had a lot of grey matter churning over the possible fixes.

Next time forget to pump up a rear tyre and post that the bike pulls to one side.:D:DI:I:D:D:)

OK...Closed Choke and tuned down idle a bit... HOLY SHI&!!! This thing halls A$$!! Got her up to 55MPH! For me that's fast I could have went faster had plenty of throttle left but felt a little unstable on the terrain I was on.

Welcome to the world of a "little kids toy", the almighty Blaster.

Yea that will get all kinds of scenario problems. Im still having fun gettin her into neutral every now and then im spot on but sometimes I keep going into
2nd gear.
