just did a plug chop

he's failing to tell us that he had a 290 in it and it was black as wesley snipes, and ran like sh*t, cernics didnt know if it took a short or long hex jet for a 28mm mikuni, so i told him get one of each in the 270's
i may have to stop and take a look at this ???
did you get the brake bracket i hung on your g-door???
call me

well by looking at the fuel ring id say your jetting is very close maybe even a lil on the fat side the ring is almost at the center of the porcelin the closer u get to the bottom the leaner it is idealy u want it about a 1/16th to an 1/8 up from the bottom. hell u should see the plugs that come out of my nitrous motors after a pass they still look brand new no color lol

definitely rather run a little fatter on a 2 stroke that a nitrous big block ;)

i was pretty happy with the ones that were coming out of my camaro last year too......

nos burns clean from what I hear so yeah, it would probably clean a plug...

as for the OP it's not the camera it's your matching color choice of background... that was probably the WORST thing in your house you could've put the plug on. it looks the damm same color... maybe find a white napkin or something like a green construction paper... something that will let the plug color stand out not hide ;)

the reason its on white is because if i put it on anything else the whit part of the plug would reflect all the light so i thought if i did that it would stop thats the only way i could get the picture without it looking like a ligh bulb

hey this awk ride????you call it...will it be the one where awk comes up to connecticut so i can go too???

no nick, i'm coming to kens the 3rd weekend in september, this awk mountain ride is freeks idea, he says the nj boys wanna get another trip in before winter, i havent heard back as to when he plans on coming

Wide open till 5th gear and then shut it down and pull the plug to check it.That is the supposedly correct way.But to be honest,I am a firm believer that you need ride it for atleast 5 min to get an accurate reading.30-40 seconds of riding never gives you an accurate plug reading.IMO

this isn't 100% correct.
a plug chop can be done at any throttle position. WOT only helps with WOT jetting, what about 1/4 or 1/4 or 3/4 throttle.
you want to get your engine warmed up with an old plug, once warm you put in the new plug. take it up to 6th gear and hold the throttle at what ever position you are trying to jet, ie 1/4 or 1/2 or whatever. hold it there for aounrd 30 seconds, then shut it off.
