Just bought a Blaster with mods...

I just bought a Blaster that I know has been Modded in some ways but don't really know what has all been done with it... I was told it was bored .40 over. It has weisco stickers on it so I'm assuming it has a weisco piston in it. Is there any way of telling if it has stuff like the oil block off kit or reeds or anything like that... I'm thinking if has the TORS removed b/c under the grill there are a lot of wires cut and put back together and taped up. If someone can tell me where to take pics at or what to take pics of I can and I can post pics for someone to look at to see what is done.

and for telling if it has a wiseco piston i think the only way u could tell is to pull the top end off and get the numbers off the top of the piston ... and for the reeds if they are on a stock reed cage the only way to tell if pull the carb off and take the reed cage off and see .. but if they are vforce they will say it right on the side like right near where the carb gos on.. and for the oil block off kit umm u can pul the side cover and see if the oil injector motor isnt there and there should be a little cap on the part of the carb right by the 1 vent .. hope i helped some

I kinda understand what you are saying but I'm new to everything when it comes to this. I''m just going off what I read other ppl talking about doing as far as mods.. What does the oil block off kist do anyways? As far as the piston I know there isn't any way of knowing without pulling off the top end. What I'm wanting to do is have it rebuilt after the summer and just trying to figure out what I got and where I want to go. I'm mostly going to just be trail riding and having fun with some friends but when I do I want to be able to keep up best as I can. I know I want to put on a 240 kit with a stroker crank and then build up from there. I can't complain none about the bike right now.. I only paid $200 for it and only thing wrong is the lower front brake cables are broke and rear brake caliber is froze up. It has a FMF fatty gold pipe and power core 2 silencer so that's worth the 200 I paid for it there.

okk.. ppl get the block off kit so they can get rid of the oil injection and run premix cause most of the time the oil injector will go bad and u will most likely mess your motor up .. yeah the 240kit with the stroker is a nice upgrade wish i had money to get 1 for mine lol.. wow 200 is a great price for a running blaster .. u have any pics of it jw ?..

Also I know I'm sounding really stupid but... right now I mix my gas at 32 to 1 as I was told to do so by the guy I got it from. The only thing is that it wasn't his bike and he is an older man that doesn't know much about atv's either. The bike belonged to his son who passed away and he did all of the work on it. So am I doing something wrong by mixing my gas now b/c I don't know if I have a oil block off kit or not so should I be putting oil in my motor somewere? I was just told it was a 2 stroke and I had to mix gas and 2 stroke oil.

yeah if u dont have the block off kit and u premix the gas and the oil injector is still working it wont run right it would be running hella rich lol.. umm just look on the clutch cover and see if there is 2 rubber lines coming out of it and 1 should go into the carb and 1 should go back to the oil tank by the silencer .. but if u do have the kit just premix the gas 32:1 and u should be good .. u could always upload the pics on like photo bucket and then post a like on here ..
 
ok the pics work .. the oil line is blocked off going into the carb so i would premix it .. umm did u pull the side cover and see if he pulled the gear for the oil injector ?.. the TORS look to still be hooked up .. that was a great deal for 200 how does it run ??..
 
The bike runs GREAT.. starts first or second kick, is really strong. I'm 6'3 and 210 and it has no problem getting out of control with me on it. It has really good throttle response. When I hit the gas it goes. First thing I'm going to do is fix breaks then put a +4 swing arm on it to help keep front tires on the ground. Over the winter I'm going to rebuild motor with 240 kit stroker crank and v force reeds then get a new carb. Also ... any guess on what year it is.????
 
If you want to find the year, look on the vin number and find the tenth digit or letter. when u find it tell me and i will give you the year.
 
he said 200 bucks. I'll give 250 for it right now! lol! yeah man that's an awsome price for a running bike. I don't know why but it always seems like the cheap bikes have brake problems. ok aftermarket pipe. looks pretty stock besides that and the rear tires. I would clean it up, check for airleaks. there are a million posts on checking the top end for air leaks on here. do a plug chop on it to make sure it is jetted right so you get all the life you can out of that piston. sounds like you have some good plans for it but I would check all those things out just in case your plans take longer than you think they will.
