Hey everyone..I just bought a 2000 blaster. I need to know what upgrades I should do first. I live in Colorado so any ideas on what I need to do for high alititude??? Pics to come.....

welcome aboard :), there are so many upgrades you can do it is amazing lol I:I all i can say is look around and read read read. the golden rule is if you do anything to modify the motor by giving it more air, (airbox lid off, a/m exhaust) you need to put a bigger main jet in also.

Thanks for the info, what is this I am also reading about taking off the oil res. and mixing it myself!!?!? Is this better for the engine?

some people have had the oil injection fail, and if you mix up the fuel yourself you KNOW there's oil in it

welcome to the forum

pics pics pics pics , if you bought the blaster in denver or are gonna ride it at the same elevation it was at , then unless it was running badly or lean , shouldn't need to re-jet the carb . welcome to the forum now lets see them pics!!!!

Denver is at altitude. Altitude is thin air. Without going crazy and to remain as trouble free as possible while restoring performance lost to the thin air I would only do a couple things to start, then ride it for a while, determine what you want to improve and go from there.

1. have the head milled .030 to restore the compression

2. get a Uni airfilter and remove the airbox lid

3. remove the oil injection and premix

4. get a decent used aftermarket pipe and silencer

5. find someone who knows what they are doing to rejet it for you after doing these mods

These are pretty simple, cheap, and will not effect dependability if done and jetted correctly and will do a nice job of waking the bike up.

this better not be yb !!!!!!!! someone please check, sounds like him in a skirt, which i'm sure he wears daily anyway
