Hi. New to the blasters and site. Name's Josh. I've been a member of E2S for like 6 years. But anyway, I have a bone stock 98 with a uni filter and no lid. does this require jetting change? Do uni filters flow alot more than stock like a k&n or not that big of a deal? I pulled the jets out to inspect size and clean the carb, but the main was not marked. So no clue on the size. The bike starts on the first kick and runs great and smokes pretty good but not real bad. So assuming the jetting is not too far off. Also, what are my choices for a good mid range pipe for these blasters? I know toomey has a good rep for that in the banshee world. But not sure on these. Thanks for any input.

yes you do have to rejet. i believe stock main jet on a blaster is 270 with a 32.5 pilot. with those mods, i would go with like a 280 or 290. but as far as pipes go, there are many options for many different riding styles. fmf isnt the best brand, but in a couple days, i might have a fmf fatty pipe and power core 2 silencer for sale

fmf is very respectable on stock to slighlty modded engines and has most of its power down low. But if you plan on getting motor or carb work done to it then i suggest a right bend pipe. f7/trinity/powerpros are all the same and are very good with mostly mid to high rpm power. And lrd and dynoport are also great buys with mostly mid range power i think.

I knew i forgot one. Good one mike. Shearer pipes have really good reviews and the only downside I have heard with them is that they dont hold to the elements very well.

Thanks guys. The bike will remain stock other than pipe, filter, and maybe reeds. I'm thinking an fmf would be best for me. Cheap, and good for stock motors. shearer is a more top end pipe i believe. Btw, where would you start on jetting with the uni, no lid, oil block off, and gut the stock muffler? It will just be until I get a good pipe. It will be ridden daily while my shee is down for a complete ported 4 mill buildI:I. I do not want this thing running lean as is, so i figure doing these to mods would require more fuel. I do not have a dealer near by But have some old jets laying around from my old shee carbs. #300+
