ok guys i have a yfs 200 which the jug sleeve bas cracked after my nephew sunk it in water i jb welded it to try to fix it temp. and it worked fine but i have a small air leak on the bottom of jug sleeve and crank case so i decided to change out the jug sleeve, my buddy has an extra jug sleeve that i took to a machine shop to be measured and it measured 72mm. the jug sleeve that i have cracked measures 66mm so i assume in order to use the 72mm jug sleeve i need to change the piston i have now. what should i look to buy all i need to do is fix it to sell the quad? i would be happy keeping the piston i have now instead of changing it out to a bigger bore, but i don't have much cash to buy a bunch of parts, the machinist i spoke to said i need to know what the standard bore was in order for him to tell me if i can still use the jug sleeve. here are the measurements he gave me i have no clue what they mean but he wrote them as follows

2.837
2.8346 -72mm

any help and reccomendations would be greatly appreciated

it sounds like he wants you to buy a piston for the cylinder when the cylinder should be made to the tolerances of the piston. you need to find a wossner piston big bore size starts at 72. talk to your machine shop and tell them they need to match the piston you buy.

I may be wrong, but the new cyl is already worn .003, so you would still have to bore and get new piston. Might consider either trying to re-do the JB and using lots of three bond or selling as-is if you don't have extra cash. JMHO, your results may and will vary.

So your air leak is where the cylinder bolts to the bottom end? New Gasket may fix that if it's not all warped may need to lap both surfaces. And you JB welded the jug? It worked? Pics please!

Also, the 72mm is a "big bore" sleeve. May want to Pm Ken Oconner for piston help!
