jetting

ANY change to the induction or exhaust system warrants a jetting CHECK. Whether the jetting will change by going from one filter to the other I doubt it will...

^^^ X2 on the butt dyno and a plug chop.

Unless the K&N was totally crudded up (which would really mean your jetting was wrong before) your jetting shouldn't change but you should check it anyway

Depends on what you're doing with it... I don't like the K&N on the blaster. I have heard reports that they let through fine dirt particles (dust and sand) but that a UNI won't. I've had really good luck with the dual stage foam filter... I would say, if it's in your budget, get the UNI.

i already have both a uni and a k and n but when i got my dynoport i got the k and n and have ran that since. it is beggining to get really dusty where i ride and i wanted to know if it would be better to go back to the uni or run an outerwears

outerwears does not stop dust. It keeps large debris from getting stuck in the pleats and blocking up the filter faster. The problem with the K&N isn't the large stuff anyway on the blaster, it's the really small stuff. Personally, I run dual stage foam filters (UNI style if not UNI brand) and have been very pleased.... I would clean the UNI very well, oil it, slap it on, check the jetting, and roll on!

I wouldn't pull it apart for it.

That oil is super gummy and under a bunch of pressure inside those cans so I would just use the filter oil and give it a liberal dose.

Plus, some of the oil on the outside stage is going to get drawn into the inside stage when you start it.
