Jetting problems..... Weird....

I checked everything with the carb.... Moved needle down and had a 260 in.... Runs better all around....


By the intake..... It wasn't in bad shape or broke... Just put tape around it... One to make it black again.... 2 it looks better and holds out heat better kinda like header wrap On a car.
 
And it's weird.... Fmf says 260..... You know what... I'm gonna do a plug chop tomorrow and find out for sure if it's lean up top Or the pop was from having a stock silencer.

Just ordered the fmf silencer..... (does it come with new grommet for hooking up pipe to silencer)

i say there lies part of your problem, no way does a stock carb need them bullshit vito's or any other needle or pilot jet
try a stock needle, middle clip
you already proved moving the clip down made a favorable change
if the pilot/airscrew circut, or the needle/mid circut is lean or rich, it will effect the main
start at the bottom, no airleaks, stock pilot/1.5 turns out airscrew, stock needle middle clip and i bet them 260/270 mains will respond
