Jetting lean or rich?

Hey guys, I got my Blaster running and i went to ride it and when i give it gas when riding, it seems to be sluggish......i think its rich cause it smokes, ALOT!!!!!!

I've got a 330 main in my stock carb (mikuni 26mm)
and the airbox cover is ON!!!


i have a feeling that if i keep my airbox cover on, i can drop my main to a 310....or if i take my airbox cover off, i would most likely have to run a 340, which i dont have....

Give me some help guys!!!

Plug chop that biotch.
Then go from there. Warm her up on an old dirty plug then switch over to a freshie and let her rip. You'll most likely be rich lol

im just gonna bump my main down 1 or so and keep my airbox cover on...i dont have an extra plug laying around....it doesn't bog at least...its FAR from bogging....it just acts like a slug when you holding in the throttle so, im pretty sure that its a wee bit rich....thanks!

330 seems way too high for what you got done imo. It def sounds like its rich tho and with that main i dont doubt it at all. Try like a 310 or 300 if you still have ur lid on. Are you at sea level??

Yea I agree with holeshotman...that is a really big jet especially with the airbox lid on, i'd say go down a few sizes or just give it a try without the airbox lid and see how it performs.

even when you change your jets you still need to do a plug chop.

I think you are rich as everyone else stated. I have just about the same mods as you and my main is 310.

I put a 320 main in before and it blew it up....my elevation is like 900ft..temperatures anywhere from 0-45*F...i rode it today and it was 11*F....rode pretty good too! it didnt act like a slug when holding in the throttle either...almost perfect!!!

dude a plug is like $1.39. i know times are tough but you can't possibly be that broke.

you may have an air leak on your intake side if you blew it up with a 3 something main, check into that cause your motor will just keep popping till you find/fix the leak
