i have a blaster and im doing work to it so im putting a new jet kit in it... and it can be a stage 1 (air box vented) or stage 2 (removed air box lid).... what wud happen if i made it stage 1 and ran it without the lid for a day or vice versa?

i already bought the jet kit =/.... and whats a disadvantage to the removed air box lid? dont u have to clean the filter more... the reason i ask is because on the k&n box it says clean every 30,000 miles...

dont even bother with the jet kits, just order up a range of jets from jetsrus.com. I got every size from 240 to 320. Then its just down to tuning.

For your original question, it would be purely up to the jet that was in your carb. If the jet is too small it could cause the engine to run lean and seize it. If the jet was too big, then you'd just be running it rich. The worst that could happen there really is the plug fouls out.

the airfilter is just more exposed to mud and water with the lid off. You should be cleaning that thing by hours of run time, not miles. Your top end would be long gone before you even would think of making it to 30,000 miles. Not to mention all the other stuff that would be worn out.

so shud i vent the air box or take the lid off? if i decide to leave the lid off and vent the front with 2 vents.... so if i vent it is it gonna be wayyyyy slower than if i took the lid off? or is the difference not gonna be bad

well... idk i ride trails and sometimes they get pretty muddy so idk if its to smart to ride with the lid off.... i wish i knew it wud be easier to order individual jets b4 i got that kit....

alright.... so rich is better to run then lean? good bec when i bored it i didnt have to rejet and i think its been running a little rich... so now this shud get me a litttle closer to perfect
