claremore, OK
K decided to have a look over of the blaster i bought a few weeks ago. Heres the intake it measures 55mm wide in the middle inner. The carb is a kehien pj and it measures a tad over 34mm i.d. at the part of the carb that bolts to the reedcage. It is jetted with a 142 main jet. Also here is the reed cage. How can i tell if these are boysen reeds? Also with a 34mm carb and 142 jet would that be enough to suopport a 240 kit or do you think its stock bore. Bike has a fmf fatty pipe with dg silencer and no airbox lid. has a silver head with black cylinder and base. base of cylinder reads: 2xj00 195cm3 and on the other side has a svi hand scribed in the base

If they arent boysen reed I'm thinking of getting the vforce 3 kit.

The plug looks good and the bike runs strong so I know the jet is appropriate.

It looks like it may have been filed down a bit, not a full job but its still good. You could probably file it down a bit more and feel a difference. Let someone confirm.

yep those look like my old boysen reeds (2stage) thats how. and she looks like its ported compared to mine but im not really sure. for the 240 kit you will have to re-jet but it aint that hard but the carb is big enough to support one.

yes atleast the intake is ported ,probably the rest of it too ..and yes those are boysen power reeds

pull the head off, it's easy enough to do, compare to a stock one to see if any headwork might have been done, and while your at it measure the distance from the top of the exhaust port and transfer ports to the deck and pm an engine builder on here (Kennedy_power, Flotek, wildcard2) and they can tell you more about if it's ported and if the blowdown is correct. i just ripped around on my new porting from kennedy and it's feelin good :)

Sweet. Thanks for the info guys. I was gonna order a v force 3 reed setup but I noticed that my intake boot had a tear in it so I had to order a new one of those before I put it back together and that cut into my fundage.

I might pull the head off since I'm waiting on that boot.

No riding for a few days. :(
