Is my bike running lean if....

Hey,
Is it running lean if I warm it up by running it around and then let it idle but the idle keeps going up and up without touching the throttle? I put a UNI filter on BUT did not do the jet in the carb yet. Think this could be a problem?
I was running it yesterday and went to downshift and it died. It would not start to save my life. Pushed it back in the garage and put a new plug in, started right up. Didnt ride it though as it was late.

well eliminate that uni airfilter problem cause ive never had a problem switching airfilters before. try adjusting that little flathead brass screw on the side of the carb (gearshift side, back of the carb (by airbox attatchment)) it should roughly be 1 and 1/4 give or take, whatever it'll run best, set your idle to somewhere you think is right, adjust that screw in 1/8 or 1/4 's until the idle speed is the fastest, then set your idle back, and try it out!

Your running too rich, adjust your air/fuel screw..turn it all the way in until it lightly seats. Then turn it 1 1/2- 2 turns out.. and try going down a couple sizes on the main jet.. see if that helps
