Is a 98 thumb trottle the same as an 03 and up

I have a 98 blaster with an 03 carb and tors. I got a tors removal kit but the supplied throttle cable on the moose racing blockoff is too long? Would a different thumb throttle remedy that? or is the kit just messed up?

why would the cable be too long? Can I shorten it? Anybody else have this problem?

your best bet is to sell the longer cable and buy a shorter one that fits they are not all that expensive
