Is it possible instead of having that stock rubber hose coming from the airbox to have like a 2 1/2 in rubber hose ? If so what would be the right jetting? What im trying to say is i could take a piece of plasticto put over the airbox mounting then drill out holes in that plastic to mount the new rubber hose. If anymore questions, just ask!

that sounds like it would work to me, and it would eliminate that restrictive narrow bend in the stock setup, kinda like the aluminum airboxes do, now you got my brain cells vibrating, maybe a piece of pre bent radiator hose from a car radiator would work for the bend it needs to clear the shock and back around to the carb??? and i have seen pics of peeps using a rubber reducing clamp thats used for plumbing (fernco coupling)to adapt different sizes together, and being an electrician all my life, i have heated pvc pipe with a torch and bent it in all kinds of shapes, gotta heat it slowly, constantly moving the torch, so ya dont burn it, so thats a possibility too
i'm gonna have to look into that
and you'd have to get an answer from someone running an aftermarket airbox if they had to rejet for the increased flow, i'm guessin yes, but maybe only 1 or 2 sizes up???

Thanks man. I knew somebody would know an answer. Im probably gonna get more replys tomorrow on this topic since its so late. I dont think yamaha had a very good design on their airboxs i have an older Yamaha 4 stroke and back in the day, they were the best quads. But Yamaha was failing in their air flow (again) Honda uses rubber hosing i believe in the 250r

i use a radiator hose for my tube from the airbox, but my airbox is diffrent than the stock one.....but it will help with more flow
