my quad starts up good and i understand it revs up to warm itself up when the chokes on and when i turn the choke off it runs good but whenever i hold the clutch in or put it in nuetral, 10 seconds later it starts to idle or rev high and when i slowly release the clutch it idles back to normal i dont understand why? is this normal.. if not can u help me fix this

clean your carb and check you air/fuel screw and you ide screw. the air/fuel screw on the carb should be 1/1/2 turns from being completely tight. so, tighten it all the way in then back it out 1/1/2 turns. Then, you can just ajust your idle level with the ajuster under your seat. Its pretty easy. Your blaste could be racing because its too lean. thats why it runs ok when the choke is on, cuz that cuts off the air but as soon as you turn it off its gettin air and starting to run lean. hope this helps.

ok i'ma try that tomorw, i basically have the same set up as you ^^ with the pipe and air filter, i dont know if that will affect how much i should turn the air screw? but if thats how u have ur quad then it should work out for me too

mine does that all the time its gotten alot better though could be wat they r saying and other things... check for air leaks around carb area or could be ur jet size if its not right or a dirty air filter could be lots of things. i got mine real good it wouldnt even idle at all now i got the tors eliminated and i uped my main jet and new plug and filter and its good to go.

um i have mine set at stock. 1/1/2 turn out. Also do what cirame1^^^said. check for leaks around the carb and remove your TORS if you havent already. hope it works out for you. let me know.

alrighty thanks a lot guys, i'ma do everything u say by tonight so i'll let u know if it works out. the only thing i dont understand is how to "up the main jet" it might not even be the problem but i'd like to try it out if everything else fails. thanks

well wats done to the quad?? do u have an exhaust or the air box lid on? and is it a stock carb?
