Ok to start off i have a 1989 Yamaha blaster and i just recently put a fmf powercore 2 silencer on it and i have rebuilt the carburetor i put all the stock jets back in it but new of course and i also had to take the magneto(flywheel) off and get some mud out of it because the person that had it before me didn't think it was necessary to have a gasket on the cover. After i fixed that i started my blaster up and as soon as i stepped away it died and i couldn't get it to idle i tried adjusting the air/gas mixture screw and i also tried adjusting the idle screw and it wont help a bit. The one thing that i did notice is that when i messed with the air/fuel mixture screw it would make it rev up a bit but if i tried messing with the idle screw it wouldn't affect it at all. Has anyone had a problem like this and if you have can you help me fix mine i have put more that enough time and money into this atv if you can help i would greatly appreciate it because i really don't have $60 an hr to take it to a shop and let them look at it.

my bike doesn't idle i don't really think of it as a problem... also with that pipe your going to need to rejet and tune that carb.

what is the air/fuel screw supposed to be set at because mine is turned all the way in and what do you mean i need to turn my carb and what do i need to jet it to? btw i dont know much about this im new to all of it.

your air screw adjusment needs to be= turn it to the right all the way to cloase air completely, then rotate counterclockwise (left/open) 1 1/2 turns to set to stock adjustments. from there you "tune" it by moving it left slowly until you get the desired setting. reccomend getting a 230 jet for that pipe. that is what my local yammy dealer had me get for my silencer adjustment. and the idle screw adjustment, never worked for me either, don't worry about that, it's junk

when it idles up your leaning it out.. you NEEED to jet it correctly and then go from there... dont tinker with it any more untell your jetted right.. most guys wil tell you to start at a 300 jet and go from there.. id say just for a pipe start at 280

it used to idle really high before i rebuilt my carb i put new stock jets back in it and after i did that it would idle but i went riding and it wont idle at all i am going to clean out my carb because i think it sucked some stuff in it when i rode it and if there isnt anything in it where should i go from there? someone told me that it could be my cdi box or that it could be my coil.

please tell me your running a air box and a filter.. wether it be stock or a/m stuff?? if so.. make sure your throttle cable moves freely, if you can pull intake tube off and look into the carb and make sure the slide is all the way down at 'idle' running or not..

I have the air box lid on still and i got it fixed today finally. But for some reason i still cant get the idle screw to do anything it wont make it idle up nor down. My whole problem was that i needed to clean my air box and clean my carburetor.
