Idle please help

my first post on this site...I have a 2001 yamaha blaster and when I start it and leave it on neutral the idle revs up like crazy also when im riding and either shift in neutral or try to stop on neutral the revs go up as well...what do you guys think the problem is ? I cleaned out my carb couple of months ago so i doubt thats the problem

Do not ride it!!!!!!!!!!!! You may have an air leak and will blow your motor if you ride it like that. First do a compression test to see if it's already screwed. If its 120 or more your good on that. Next do a leak down test to find an air leak.

most likely an air leak! DO NOT RIDE IT UNTIL IT IS FIXED!!!!!!

get yourself an air leak tester from slickerthanyou on here and do a leakdown test

ok thanks for the response... how much is this all gonna cost me? is it a simple diy or should i take it to get serviced..dont wanna screw anything else up

the cost of the repair is going to depend on where the leak is coming from. same with the difficulty of the repair
