I had this idea on how to get sound on the outside on my truck, so if i am chilling with people somewhere i could flip a switch and i could have sound everywhere. If you put a DPDT switch going from the harness, have one output going to the inside speakers, and the other output going to a waterproof box mounted in the bed. That way, i could flip the switch and then have speakers in the back seat and just throw them in the bed and plug them in whenever. I understand that it might create resistance, but my inside system is not going to win any competitions, so i do not think the resistance would make a noticable change in sound quality, at least not to my ears.

So what you guys think, any input is appreciated

you can get outdoor/water proof speakers.. check on ebay .. there is a ton of stuff for boats, tweeters, mids highs 6x9s subs everything for boats,, check into it that will take core of anything gettin wrecked from moisture,
as far as switching the sound, you can get a powered speaker a/b set up from a audio place to switch between speakers

ight cool thanks for the input, yea your right some outdoor speakers would be much better thanks

if you can thear it outside the truck... you need more power!!! wallmart buddy!!! get your self some pioneer or sony 6x9s, some $20 cheap 1 inch tweeters mounted on the a pillars.. and if you truck has dash speakers get some plates or good round speakers that fit, that with a decent cd player wil be plenty loud enough!!..
i have sony 6x9s in the back of my truck and stockers in the door with a cheapo sliding face dual cd player and its plenty loud!!

BTW i usedto be big into car audio... if built some loud and clean sounding systems for cheap!! and i can design a mean slot port sub box that thats cappable of rattling your teeth out

just put a toggle switch on the speaker wire..

This is what I would do... You really got to watch the inpedance of the speaker you are using and make sure what ever you are using to power them either an amp or the deck you have in your truck that you don't drop the inpendance to low and hurt your unit. The ideal way to do it is hook up some kind of cheap amp to your speakers you want on the outside with a toggle switch to turn the power to the amp on and off. I know a little bit about the whole car audio thing LOL... I compeated in SPL comps for a little over 3 years from 2003 to 2006. I was the MECA world champion in my class in 2004 with a SPL score that wasn't beat untill just last year. It was like anything else though.. I put way to much money into it and was getting nothing in return so I gave it up and sold everything including the car. If you need some help on a good setup just give me a pm.

ight guys thanks for the responses, yea the more i think about it, the less i feel liek putting in the time to do it, i leave home at 7:30 am and get home at 6:30 so weekdays i am too tired, and the weekends i always have something going on. I just got pioneer components off amazon so they should be legit enough for me. The time to run wire to a switchbox, make it, and then run it to the bed, all done properly

go to radio shack and get the speaker horn things they use at like baseball fields there like 20 or 25 dollars a piece and they sound good.i am into the whole car audio thing and thats what every around here uses.you can hook them up to amps and whatever.you can put them on an equalizer so that what you can turn them on and off
