I have an 02 blaster and i just got it back from the shop friday. it blew or so i think, yesterday. should i go back to cycle pros and blame them. or should i just get some money swallow my pride and get it fixed? and did i even blow my motor is what i should be asking. i went riding with my buddy on friday and saturday. it was fine on friday for the most part. i changed the plug to an iridium plug and foud zero difference. and then on saturday i was riding it and i noticed it was starting like 4 or 5th kick rather than 1st, 3rd. and then it started making a clanking noise. so i rode home and i got first second and then at the bottom of third it starting acting up again. i took it home, asked my dad what he thought. his prognosis was that i hadnt any gear oil. which happened to be the case, but i did have a little gear oil, so its not that. anyway it ran right up until i shut it off and now it wont start and it has a lot less compression than when it was running. so im pretty sure i blew the piston what do you think? thanks.

f*cking call them. i hate douchebags that mess up your sh*t. what exactly did u get done? if it was a top end rebuild, they didnt tell you to break it in did they? if they didnt and it was, they should have and if they didnt, they f*ckedy you over.

No they did carb and brake work. Thats why im asking because it seems ironic that it broke the next day. and truthfully it doesnt seem like they fixed much. when i got it back from them it didnt even idle.

but in truth they are going to sayit ran great when you picked it up. thats why if i were to take my blaster to a shop, i would run it and ride it before i left there to make sure it ran how i wanted it to.

Yeah, dude. they did jet it. and it was running the same so maybe it was running to lean. cuz they dont have a dyno so how are they supposed to know what they're doing? And im only 13 so i didnt have the balls to say it wasnt running right. but i told my mother who was there to pick it up and she agreed. so maybe ill just have her call and biotch out. :)

if they jetted it then they may have jetted it t run lean. but, you are never going to know unless you call them and find out. It's hard to tell. Right now your just guessing what the shop may or may not do without asking them.

yeah but its pretty ironic that it happened the very next day. and im sure they have some sort of guaruntee or something. cuz its not like it happened months later

Since they did the carb work, and it would not idle; maybe a piece of dirt got stuck in the main jetting causing it to lean out. Why didnt you say something at the repair shop when it didnt idle?
You took it to the repair shop for carb work; maybe the carb was alright and the piston/rings were on the way out. When compression gets low, it get hard to start a cold engine.
Maybe the oil injection is not working correctly?
Do you premix the oil/gas?

well i called them. and like always theyre not gonna admit to anything or tell me anything, so i decided to take the thing apart. screw them. and im not that stupid i know what im doing for the most part. so i took the gastank, reeds, seat, carb, fatty, and the top of the head off. the piston is done for. im just wondering how do i take the front head bolts off? i cant seem to get them off with out strippage. and i dont want to strip them to the point that i can remove them. what should i do?

yea the only problem is that even if they did lean it out to much as long as oil was getting to the engine I woudlnt just blow up like that. It would be over time. Are you running your Oil pump or did you block it off? Your oil pump might have failed and that would be all bad causing you problems AND it NOT being the shops fault. Bottom line take the bike back to the shop and aks them what they can do for you.

Oh and to remove those head bolts...Use and Impact gun or, better go out and get yourself an extracter set. (used to remove stripped bolts/nuts) and why exactly can you take your whole quad apart and find out that your piston is shot but you cant do simple carb work? Just a question.

I'm kind of confused. Why exactly are you running an iridium spark plug? Maybe running the wrong kind of plug is part of your problem.

Hey sorry guys im new to this i didnt know they had a second page. haha. but im just gonna answer everything at once. or try to
Whats an extractor set and where can i get one
Whats the big deal with an iridium plug? (i just got one to boost performance)
Yes I do use premix
Yes the oil pump is blocked off.
Oh and the carb work idk
i didnt feel like messing with it so i sent it in and now im forced to fix it myself cuz they have all my dough.

actually iridium plugs aren't very good for performance, they are designed for performance over along period of time, thats why car manufacturer's are pushing them so much, they are low maintenance for 4 strokes, as far as plugs go don't waste your money on them just buy the $2 NGK'S when needed and you'll be fine. im sorry to hear your dilemma but i can tell you the shop will not take fault for it, there's way to many variable's, the brightside is while your only 13 these quads are fairly cheap to maintain and repair...good luck!

No sh*t.
I thought iridium plugs were supposed to be sick.
cuz i know a kid that races flat track and thats what he runs
i guess i shouldnt assume.
haha.
cheap?
dude i made 1500 this summer
its all gone. and i got the quad for free.
