Re: i have a 2000 yamaha blaster with a full fmf on it. thinking of geting a toomey b
I wold not bore it .60 over unless it is needed to clean up the cylinder walls. Theporting is where the power is. Once ported it should double the power you have and can easily reach high 20's abd low, low 30's with the right pipe, porting, head mod, and bigger carb. All depends on what you want. If you keep the fmf pipe and stock carb but get it ported, I recommend at the least, removing the airbox lid and getting a 30mm carb. With that setup, you would be making an ungodly amount of low end power. For long, high speed rides, you main be happier with some sprocket changes to. Just putting a 14 tooth on the front will net you about 3mph more in top speed. It will slightly decrease torque, but with the porting, pipe, and(possibly) bigger carb, you wont miss that little bit. If more than 55-58 mph is required, you can go down in the back sprocket to say a 38 tooth and gain another 2-3 mph.
