Hi all.

Im gonnna tune up my blaster very soon. The plan is exhaust, filter, and later big bore, carb, reeds.

But my question is:

1. Reeds ? is that only the "blades" on stock cage or what u call it.

2. Boysen Rad valve? it look like a complete unit? Does it fit with stock carb? How is performance compared to stock?

3. V-Force 2, 3?? Whats that compared to the 2 above... ? And performance compared?

What the BEST solution regarding raw horsepower.... AND will theese parts fit with stock parts? OR do they require special cylinder or something?

I want to buy soon .. but the cool thing could be if they matched stock kit... AND could be used later on with big bore and so on.

Best regards to a fantastic forum and members...

V3 ROCKS......they are a bolt on and dont forget a new pipe...u will notice a huge difference... oh and rejet and remove airbox lid..

all those can be used on the stock cylinder and on a bb kit.
they do bolt on. i recommend the v3 which is what i run, but understand that the reed cage won't really increase hp....it'll allow a little more cfm through the intake, but carb can only flow so much anyway.
the reed cage upgrade is really for throttle response. it makes the throttle much more crisp and immediate. no lag or hesitation, and just feels much tighter.
also it accomodates the increased flow from a larger carb.

you will get different opinions. i think the VF2's give a lil more HP but VF3's are great to. i would stay away from the others if you are looking for more power they are good but wont compare to the V-force series. and like biotch says dont forget the pipe.

it's not necessarily hps....a good reedcage won't do anything to inrease hp directly. the stock intake is already very good, it flows a LOT more than the stock reed cage and even more than the vf3, what restricts the flow is the carb. if you're running like a 34 or 36mm carb then you'll notice a difference between the vf3 and the vf2. the vf2 you can port to further increase flow whereas the vf3s you cannot.
but like i said, neither will directly increase power.....just throttle response.

bang for the buck a nice set of boyesen or Vito's petals on a stock ported cage can't be beat. But, raw power the V-Force series are the biggest gain. The amount of power you gain won't be as noticeable as the amount of throttle responce gained. But, I would honestly recommend putting a good pipe on it first...this will be your biggest gain for the buck spent.

Hi guys.

Thanks so much for the replies. Ill think I will stick with the V3 reed cage! .. and combine that with the Toomey B1 kit. Ill sure now ill notice a diffrence over stock! :D

Toomey B1 Pipe complete
Jet #310
Airfilter
12 inlet "valves" for the airbox
V3 Reed Cage

Maybe I wont have to tune it further with that package! .. although I have in a far future the 240cc big bore kit in my mind! ;-) But there is no doubt ill start with the stuff above.

i have boysen power reeds and i love they way it responds.. granded reeds are not much for apower gains.. but the throttle responce will make you think your making more power.. will feel it hit harder when it hits power band.. so the ''butt dyno'' makes more power

WC2 knows about all this. listen to her.
good call on the Vf 3's with everything else you will be happy.
