Hey! I'm planning on selling a bunch of stuff on here, but idk how to use paypal

I went to website and its seems like
enter your email, person you are paying email, and amount
Correct? And if the person paying is hooked to bank account, does the payer get the charge, or receiver?

If im wrong, someone please explain lol

you got the process correct.

as for fees:
the seller gets the charge, if transaction if for "goods or services"
if you click the "personal" tab, and mark as "gift or money owed", there is no fee, nor any protection for the buyer.

if you know who you're dealing with (seller) it's ok to do "personal", if you don't know/trust the seller, pay the fee and be protected.

this is kind of why we have an itrader system on here, to check the sellers feedback before doing business.
but it's not foolproof, we've had a few good sellers go rogue before.

just for reference, i have never used the paypal protection on here, and have been lucky so far with all good deals when buying,
i also insist on my buyers using the "personal" no fee payment, or add 3% so the fee comes out of their end.
and link them to my 100% itrader feedback page on here.
if they feel the need for protection with me, let them pay it, i'm not.

Ok, so all you have to do is give account name/email to receive money?

I guess it seems simple enough, if the buyer knows what hes doing, im fine with that lol.

If i get paid, i will send the part out, if not, the part stays simple as that

So when your selling you give the buyer your email for paypal then check your account to see that the transaction was made before shipping? Also how do you calculate shipping?

yes to providing your PP email, or vice versa

I calculate shipping by using usps.com priority flat rate shipping boxes. if it fits it ships under 75 lbs.
small $5, medium $12, and large $15
you'll save a buck or 2 on each if you setup an account and pay/print the shipping label at home.
i also just schedule a pickup on there, haven't been to the post office in months :)

If it's a larger item, like a pipe, you can take a chance and charge what others are charging on ebay,
or take the box measurements and weight then enter that into one of the shipping co.'s websites...
usps, ups, or fed-ex.
or take it to one of them to have checked

Thanks awk08, helped me a lot. Currently selling my entire setup to make way for an all out dragger. A lot easier to sell on here compared to cl

Never trust an email from paypal. Go direct to the paypal site for any status. DO NOT click an email link to go to paypal.

only thing i got to add is it takes like 3 days to transfer money from your bank account to pay pal..it has been awhile since ive used it so that might have changed,,just a thought

Also ! thing I will add. If you do the shipping from your house or office or wherever and pay for it. Make sure your weight is right.. So So many times I have received packages that I owe shipping on because the seller decided to try and save $ by putting in less weight.. I know its not a big deal for 1$ sometimes up to 5$ but when im waiting for something I really need and they didn't deliver it and I get a note saying postage due and I have to go back to the post office to get it, it gets frustrating after a few times.. granted you don't have to pay for it, but then it will go back to the seller and you start from scratch again. Also 1 more thing. Try and ship Priority, it comes with 50$ insurance and free tracking and most of the time it only takes a few days to get where its going. Also with Pay pal you can request a check but they charge you like 2$ or something so its best to link it to your bank account, its free to transfer the $$ to your bank account and takes up to 4 days as little as 2 has been my experience.. Do be advised though when your dealing with E bay and pay pal they hold a percentage of the sale I think 10% in a rolling reserve. So sometimes you may not have instant access to all of the $$. for example if you sold something for 100$ today, you would only be able to get out 90$ and then in like 2 months you can get the other 10$ out.. My pay pal used to be like that when I started but recently I see no rolling reserve ???
Pay pal has saved my a$$ a few times its nice to have..
Anyone else have a rolling reserve still?
