How Much Diffeeence Is It If You Take The Lid Off Of Your Air Box?


I've Been Thinking About My Trip To The Dunes Compared To Riding Around Here Before.


The Only Thing I Did Was Put The Lid Back On It Do To Fear Of Sand
In The Motor.

yeah I'm going to L.S. in a couple of weeks and I dont have an airbox lid. I'm gonna try and wrap some panty hose over the airbox or something....lol

Sand gets EVERYWHERE.

I Bought An Outerwears Just In Case But I'm Also Thinking Of Modding The Airbox Lid Like Outerweara Did With Some Panty Hose
Myself That Way It's Freeflow But Safer....

Build A Bracket Or Something For It

Just go get an outerwear and a k&n filter, or a uni filter and you'll be fine. I run just a clamp on with an outerwear, and little sahara is my home, haha. never had sand in my filter, and my neighbor has just straight uni clamp ons on his banshee, he's never had sand in it before either

really? On my old yfz450 everytime I'd come home I'd have to change the airfilter cause sand would be on the inside of the stock filter and it actually got inside my gastank. I had the airbox lid on and everything.

oldskool did you get you outerwears at that sand city shop? Do they make one to fit over the filter inside the airbox or just the airbox lid conversion thing?

Wow, that sand problem on your 450 is weird, cause i ride with a guy that's got one, and he just has a k&n and the outerwear inside the stock box, and has the lid off, but we've only seen minimal sand in it, even after throwing a couple giant roosters on him while sitting. haha So i dunno, and that's really weird you got it in your gas tank. i just got the new tusk gas cap vent valve, we'll see how it works tomorrow, hopefully it'll vent, stay on, and not let anything in

I Ordered My Filter Cover Straight From Outerwears.com

They Have One To Go On The Stock Style Filter It Fits On My No Toil
Filter Just Fine

mine are tusk risers i think i got mine off of ebay for 12 bucks

it did go to 1 1/8 bar and i got my long horn bars for 20.00 on rockymountain
